I think the textures look fine. The light seems a bit harsh, but then that's part of the beauty of this piece too. Love the rays and the blue atmosphere. Looks great. What do you use to generate your terrains? You always come up with such interesting compositions!

nice and strong rays, maybe a bit too strong, the rays destroy the view of the surface, wherever a rays hits the terrain, i can't tell u something bout the surface there. the clouds are a bit too flat, but nice terrain
hmmmm. I must agree that this is one of your better pieces, especially in terms of concept.
It has a certain feeling of a path, the lightrays pointing out the way to walk, like, leading the weary traveller
The only thing, is the texturing is a little bleak, I don't know if it's for my taste, but the scene reminds me of some kind of illustration from a fairytale, but these textures eliminate that idea.
My advice, and I would love to see it executed is this:
Scrap this dark stone texture, and make the base a soil type thing, and build on it with more soil and grass. . .grass maybe that just sits on the plateaus
Next, on the bottom of the 'path' (basically, the bottom of the canyon thing), create a texture that makes us think it's been walked on, like, a much lighter color soil/dirt, or a stone/pebble kind of deal
Then, with the lighting, create a warmer, redder feel to it all, although not too much, don't lose the leading light.
Sadly, I think the clouds could be made a lot better, but I wouldn't want this wonderful ray formation to get destroyed
Any, that's what I think. . . take it or leave it
